Often things aren't quite as bad as they seem. As with this problem of vertical lines on your iPhone screen (as pictured). This will usually result in a completely unresponsive screen.
I've been finding a lot of people who believe that there is some major internal irreparable damage when they are presented with this.
This is rarely the case. 99% of the time the problem is caused by a fault with the digitizer and / or it's associated cable. The digitizer is the layer in the screen assembly which senses and maps the touch.
This type of fault only began with the iPhone 5, and exists with all other models since including the iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Due to the way the LCD (display) and touch are integrated differently to that of the previous models.
So no need to be concerned, this is fixed with a basic iPhone screen replacement.
